MLF Cherry Varieties (in Order of Ripening)

Sweet Cherries You Can Pick @ Maple Lawn Farms

CAVALIER A terrific Black Sweet opens the early fresh picking season at Maple Lawn. This fruit is luscious in quality, medium to large size with deep, rich color and a shiny finish. It picks easy and has dry, firm flesh and resists cracking.

SAM This new black variety is large and firm and yummy.

RANIER An outstanding new light colored, very attractive yellow cherry, Ranier has a red blush. Its flesh is clear with colorless juice. Normally, it grows large and has an exceptional holding quality that lengthens shelf life.

EMPEROR FRANCIS This white cherry is an improvement over Queen Anne. It is of a large beautiful quality with a red blush that can nearly cover the skin.

VIC Cross a Bing with a Schmidt seedling and this cherry gets larger and darker in color and is excellent for processing or eating fresh.

HEDELFINGEN This black beauty has great flavor for fresh eating, and is a black late season cherry. Tart Cherries make great pies and jams.

MONTMORENCY This is the best red tart cherry for home and commercial processing. It will make you pucker, but new research has found it to be a winner in helping to alleviate arthritis pain.
