A day in our orchards could be just what your family needs. It's a place where young and old and middle ages all fit in fine.

What better outing or field trip could you take to get away from whatever routine you're stuck in that's fun, healthful, inexpensive, educational?

Maybe picking apples six days a week, eight hours a day might become a drag; but once or twice a year, it's a ball. There you are in God's good sunshine and crisp fresh air in the middle of our dwarf orchard where you can reach all the best apples without even climbing a ladder, or in our old orchard up a gnarled tree, on a ladder watching the kids frolic and squeal, "Look at the one I got!"

Everyone pulls together to help fill one or a dozen baskets while sneaking bites and savoring juicy tidbits from his own hoarded apple.

There's lots of fellowship, vigorous exercise and succulent nutrition in apple picking, in apple eating, and in home processing. For many it's even an adventure finding us! (Check out our direction page if you forget, and don't let finding us be a hassle.)

We think it's important for people to realize that apples grow during apple season on professionally managed trees, in well-kept orchards. They do not just appear in plastic bags in the back of supermarkets all year long at the same price.

We at Maple Lawn Farms are proud of our fresh fruit, and we hope to continue sharing it with you season after season in the sun or under the clouds. Because you are a preferred customer, you have the latest information on this year's crop from our newsletter, and can make your decisions about when to come for the particular variety or varieties which you like best.

Your access to our farm assures you more variety than almost anywhere else, especially in any grocery store which might offer 3-5 varieties in any given season. Especially in October, then the later types of apples overlap the earlier ones, you can get up to eight at one time.

We have the latest and the best genetic material in our hi-tech dwarf orchard where the trees are small and the apples bigger; and the old standby favorites are in our old orchard where the trees are big and the apples smaller

When the weather is bad, you can pick from the bins inside for the same price as U Pick. So don't delay.

Remember, since we no longer can use Alar, the apples tend to fall off the trees sooner, so beat them to it by picking them early. HALLOWEEN WILL BE THE FINAL DAY FOR RETAIL SALES!
We provide 1/2 bushel baskets for picking. There will a $2 deposit on these containers which you can return for credit or keep. You can then pack your apples in your own containers or the grocery bags we have on hand.
